Who We Are
Inspired by the late Donald L. Fresh, PhD, we are a family with a heart for giving and the good fortune to be able to do so. We rely on a circle of friends who guide us to causes that will enrich the lives of individuals, improve the community, and benefit society.
Transforming Obstacles Into Opportunities
Our mission is to work in two related areas.
First, our foundation seeks to partner with those who dedicate their lives to working with youth. We aim to support enrichment opportunities for students in situations where, either through family circumstances, poverty, or a lack of opportunity provided by schools, they would miss such growth experience. These opportunities may expand horizons or further learning experiences within a chosen field, creating young people with purpose and increased self-confidence.
The second part of our mission is to work specifically with people who have unique challenges in our society. Examples may include people with mental illness, those facing homelessness, or veterans encountering challenges as they return to civilian life. We aim to help create opportunities for such individuals to participate in activities that may not be available to them. We seek to make inclusiveness the standard rather than an exception. We hope to support programs that develop coping skills, promote self-confidence, teach new skills, and create options for the future.
