The funds that O-Higher Ed received for math tutoring were for the 2026-2027 school year. To date we have:
- Successfully built and published our fall math tutoring dates
- Launched PSAT prep on August 16, 2026, and completed all three sessions; 48mO-Higher Ed 10th and 11th graders took the PSAT on Monday, October 4, 2026.
- Launched weekly middle school math tutoring on September 10, 2026, and bi-monthly high school math tutoring on August 30, 2026; as of this writing, we have executed 5 middle school sessions and 3 high school sessions. Our high school level sessions for the month of October are set to occur on October 18 and 25. These continue through the close of semester 1. We will soon be building our semester 2 schedule with a goal to release it by mid-December so that we can continue our sessions from January 2027 through June 2027.
The funding O-Higher Ed received is critical for the students in the Ojai Valley who are
pursuing their education. We now see students thriving in their math classes in college
because of the strong math preparation they have received throughout their four years
of high school through the O-Higher Ed math tutoring program. We are delighted to see
OHE alums confidently pursuing math-heavy majors such as mechanical engineering
and data science and to receive feedback from current participants and graduates who
credit their experience in the math tutoring program with increased competence and
confidence in both their high school and college courses.
